Financial Architects wins the Flemish government award for the most promising company

Financial Architects wins the Flemish government award for the most promising companyGhent/Brussels - 22 October 2007 - Besides the ceremony for the ‘Onderneming van het Jaar’ (Entrepreneur of the Year), a promising Flemish company is also honoured at the occasion of this gala night.  For the third year in a row, Ernst & Young organises the ‘Prijs van de Vlaamse Regering voor de Beloftevolle Onderneming’ (Flemish Government Award for the Most Promising Company), together with the Flemish Government. This year’s winner is Financial Architects. Dirk De Beule, one of the co-founders of the company, received the trophy from Flemish Prime Minister Kris Peeters.

Third edition of the most promising company of the year
'De Prijs van de Vlaamse Regering voor de Beloftevolle Onderneming’ was organised by Ernst & Young for the first time in 2005. Together with Ernst & Young, the Flemish Government wants to indicate the importance of innovation and responsible management, which are two crucial elements in the economic development of our country. It wants to continue stimulating and motivating emerging and promising entrepreneurship,” says Jo Sanders, partner at Ernst & Young.

Financial Architects meets selection criteria
The prize for the most promising company always goes to a first-generation company that is experiencing strong growth and clearly stands out in one of the various criteria: competitiveness, innovation, globalisation, entrepreneurship, responsible management and vision. Following a meticulous screening based on these key criteria, the jury finally chose Financial Architects. The company follows in the footsteps of Transics and Televic, who won the most promising company award for, respectively 2006 and 2005.

“Financial Architects is a young company, founded in 1997, that has built a leading position and that offers software solutions for financial institutions, integrating amongst others the financial and the risk management aspects. The company already possesses a widespread international structure with offices in London, Luxemburg, Madrid, New York and Singapore. Figures prove that customer satisfaction is very high, and the 130 experts in banking, finance and risk management contribute to the further growth of the company,” says Paul Buysse, jury president.

“It is indisputable that Financial Architects is a company that has layed the foundations of a further sustainable growth and international expansion by means of its strategic and operational priorities. Therefore, it deserves the award of Promising Company,” Baron Paul Buysse concludes.

This year the jury was once again chaired by Baron Paul Buysse, President of the Bekaert Board of Directors, and included representatives from the business and academic worlds. As a new member of the jury, this year Bart Van Coppenolle (CEO Metris International, Onderneming van het Jaar 2006) joined Hans Crijns (Professor Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School), Frederik Delaplace (editor-in-chief, Mediafin), Martin De Prycker (Managing Director, Barco), Mimi Lamote (Manager ZiekenhuisNetwerk Antwerp – ZNA), Philippe Muyters (Managing Director, VOKA), Geert Noels (Managing Director & Chief Economist, Petercam), Michèle Sioen (CEO, Sioen Industries) and Paul Windey (Chairman of the National Labour Council).
